Rice & Wheat (Pasta, Bread):
- Major nutrient: Carbohydrate.
- Other: B vitamin especially niacin & thiamine.
Specific fruits are major sources of the following: vitamin C (guava, amla etc.), Carotene (mangoes, oranges etc.).
Milk & milk product (eg: milk, curd, cheese):
- Major nutrient: Protein.
- Other: Carbohydrate, fat, calcium, riboflavin.
