Important point to keep in mind while selecting

Rice & Wheat (Pasta, Bread):

  • Major nutrient: Carbohydrate.
  • Other: B vitamin especially niacin & thiamine.

Fruits (Juice):

Specific fruits are major sources of the following: vitamin C (guava, amla etc.), Carotene (mangoes, oranges etc.).

Milk & milk product (eg: milk, curd, cheese):

  • Major nutrient: Protein.
  • Other: Carbohydrate, fat, calcium, riboflavin.
